Man arrested after fleeing traffic stop in Hopkinton

HOPKINTON — Troopers from the Hope Valley Barracks and members of the Hopkinton Police Department arrested Malachi McKenzie, 41, of Saint Albans, New York, following a traffic stop on Thursday, April 10, at 4:30 p.m.

McKenzie was charged with being a fugitive from justice out of New York state on an original charge of grand larceny 4, as well as obstructing a police officer.

The arrest occurred after McKenzie fled on foot during a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 North in Hopkinton.

Authorities later apprehended McKenzie and transported him to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing.

McKenzie, a resident of 19403 Linden Boulevard in Saint Albans, was held overnight pending morning arraignment in Fourth Division District Court.
