GREENWICH — A local woman was arrested and charged with attempted assault after allegedly trying to harm an elderly person under her care, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Sarah E. Campbell, 39, of Greenwich, faces charges of Attempted Assault in the 2nd Degree, a Class E Felony, following a joint investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Washington County Adult Protective Services.
Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy said investigators determined Campbell had attempted to assault a victim who was over sixty-five years old and for whom she was serving as a caregiver in the Town of Greenwich.
The incident occurred on State Route 29 and was documented under case #2025-006096.
Campbell was held at the Washington County Jail before being arraigned in Centralized Arraignment.
She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Town of Greenwich Court at a future date.
