BRUNSWICK — State Police arrested a Brunswick man on April 9 for promoting and possessing child sexual exploitation material following a cyber tip investigation.
Dustin E. Maxon, 33, faces charges of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.
The arrest came after State Police of Brunswick, with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at Maxon’s residence.
Authorities said the investigation began with a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Maxon was processed at SP Brunswick and arraigned in Brunswick Town Court.
He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or a $500,000 partially secured bond.
