MIDDLEBURGH — Two Cobleskill residents were arrested Monday after state police discovered felony-weight narcotics in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
Amanda E. Vasquez, 35, and Tessa N. Taylor, 30, were taken into custody at approximately 9:40 p.m. on State Route 145 in Middleburgh.
Troopers initially stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation, police said.
Vasquez, who was driving the vehicle, faces two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and vehicle and traffic law violations.
Taylor, the passenger, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
Both suspects were processed at the State Police barracks in Cobleskill before being transported to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility, where they await arraignment.
