PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested three individuals on separate charges including drug possession and driving under the influence during overnight operations in Providence and surrounding areas.

At 3:30 p.m., troopers arrested Michael Drake, 33, of Cranston, for possession of Schedule I-V under 10 grams (Fentanyl).

The arrest occurred after the Rhode Island Sheriff’s Department contacted Lincoln Woods Barracks advising they had Drake in custody at Kent County Hospital.

Drake was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace at the hospital, released to the Sheriff’s Department, and transported back to the Adult Correctional Institution.

At 11:13 p.m., troopers arrested Khalil Elahi, 62, of Cranston, for possession of Schedule I-V (Cocaine) and as a fugitive from justice from Tennessee for failure to register as a sex offender.

Elahi’s arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Dave Gavitt Way in Providence.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Sixth District Court.
