EXETER — A 48-year-old Exeter man was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of second degree child abuse following a welfare check at his residence.
Francis E. Norris III, of 10 Tarbox Drive, was taken into custody at 9:20 p.m. on April 9 after Rhode Island State Troopers responded to his home.
Troopers transported Norris to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace.
Norris was released with a future court date in Fourth Division District Court.
The arrest came after an investigation that began with the welfare check at the residence, according to state police.
