Elmira police arrest 2 after traffic stop yields drugs, cash

ELMIRA — Police arrested two Binghamton residents after a traffic stop in Elmira yielded more than 5 ounces of methamphetamine and other narcotics.

Officers conducted the stop near Park Place and West Clinton Street at approximately 10:19 p.m. on April 9 after observing a traffic violation.

The driver, identified as Korey M. Beck, 30, was found to be on New York State Parole out of Broome County and was violating his curfew without permission to leave the county.

A female passenger, Angel N. Feringa, 36, was also in the vehicle.

During a search of the car, officers discovered a large quantity of Oxycodone pills, several strips of Suboxone, a digital scale, a large amount of U.S. currency, and over 5 ounces of methamphetamine.

Beck was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony.

Feringa was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Beck is being held at the Elmira Police Department awaiting arraignment, while Feringa was released on an appearance ticket.
