WINDHAM — Residents in the Jenny’s Hill and Iron Wood Road area have reported multiple sightings of a bear in their neighborhood, according to the Windham Police Department.
The bear has been observed eating bird seed from residential bird feeders.
Police are reminding residents to be cautious when placing bird feeders outside during this time of year, as they may attract bears and other wildlife to residential areas.
Bear sightings are common during this season and do not need to be reported to police, officials said.
Residents can contact the Windham Police Department at (603) 434-5577 any time of day for animal emergencies or to report bears or other wildlife that appear to frequent the same residence.
