Auburn man dies after dirt bike crash in Onondaga

ONONDAGA — A 33-year-old Auburn man died following a dirt bike crash on a trail in the Town of Onondaga on April 7.

State Police in Lafayette responded to the reported crash at approximately 7:32 p.m. on a trail north of 4163 Tanner Road in Onondaga County.

According to the preliminary investigation, Caleb T. Devoe was operating a 2011 Yamaha dirt bike when he exited the trail for unknown reasons and went down a 5-foot embankment.

Bystanders discovered Devoe at the bottom of the embankment.

While being transported by TLC Ambulance, Devoe lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest.

Emergency personnel performed life-saving measures and transported Devoe to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
