WAVERLY — Two juveniles were arrested after allegedly setting fire to a vacant house on Ellistown Road, causing approximately $65,000 in damage, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office and Tioga County Fire Investigation Team responded to the structure fire on the evening of March 31.
The fire was extinguished by the Waverly-Barton Fire Department and was deemed suspicious in nature.
Investigators determined that the juveniles unlawfully entered the vacant residence and intentionally set fire to the building.
Both juveniles were arrested as juvenile delinquents and charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree arson and second-degree criminal mischief, all felonies.
They were issued appearance tickets to appear before the Tioga County Probation Department and the Tioga County Family Court.
