ROME — Two men were arrested April 10 following a traffic stop, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.
At approximately 2:01 p.m., members of the Road Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Tannery Rd and Oswego Rd in the City of Rome.
Deputies observed a white Ford F-350 pickup truck with a utility trailer attached, in violation of multiple NYS Vehicle & Traffic Laws.
As Road Patrol Deputies approached the vehicle, they made contact with the three occupants.
Further investigation led Deputies to discovering the vehicle and affixed license plates were reported stolen to NYSP North Syracuse.
It was also discovered that one of the occupants of the vehicle currently possessed an active Bench Warrant with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
James Clark, 33, was arrested and turned over to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office without further incident.
The investigation was turned over to members of the Criminal Investigation Unit and as a result, Kenneth Sweeting, 47, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree, an E Felony.
Sweeting was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building.
Sweeting was issued an Appearance Ticket, multiple Vehicle & Traffic Law citations, released and is to appear in Rome City Court at a later date.
