LINCOLN — Lincoln police have identified a Connecticut man as the suspect in a vehicle arson that occurred on Smith Street just before midnight on April 7.
Jeffrey Bowden, 38, of Plainfield, Connecticut, is wanted on one count of fourth-degree arson under Rhode Island General Law 11-4-5.
Officers from the Lincoln Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle fire on Smith Street at approximately 11:55 p.m.
Upon arrival, investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set.
Police discovered that the vehicle owner and Bowden were known to each other, with the incident believed to stem from a personal relationship dispute.
Authorities have issued an extraditable warrant for Bowden’s arrest.
Lincoln police are assuring residents there is no danger to the public as this appears to be an isolated and targeted incident.
