Three men arrested in energy drink theft totaling $400 from Wegmans

HENRIETTA — Three men were apprehended by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies after allegedly stealing nearly $400 worth of energy drinks from a Wegmans store in the Town of Henrietta.

On April 6 at 1:48 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a larceny in progress at the Wegmans located at 745 Calkins Road.

Witnesses reported seeing two men load a shopping cart with energy drinks and leave the store without paying.

Upon arrival, deputies observed the suspects pushing the cart through the parking lot toward a Jeep Liberty, where a third man was waiting in the driver’s seat.

The first suspect, identified as Zachary S. Buckingham, 31, of Penfield, was taken into custody at the scene.

Following a brief chase, deputies arrested the second suspect, Nathan R. Moffett, 33, of Penfield.

The driver, identified as Theodore R. Knapp, 22, of Perinton, was also apprehended by deputies.

Zachary S. Buckingham has been charged with burglary in the third degree and petit larceny.

Nathan R. Moffett faces a charge of petit larceny.

Theodore R. Knapp has also been charged with petit larceny.

Buckingham and Moffett were transported to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment in the Centralized Arraignment Part Court and released to pretrial supervision.

Buckingham, who had previously been banned from all Wegmans’ properties, has four outstanding warrants in Livingston County.

Moffett has outstanding warrants in Monroe and Livingston Counties.

Knapp was issued an appearance ticket and released.
