State police seize drugs, arrest suspect after search in Schuyler County

READING — Members of the New York State Police Troop E Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on April 3 at 2665 Church Road in the town of Reading.

The operation, conducted with assistance from the State Police Uniform Force and the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team West, led to the seizure of significant quantities of illegal substances and related materials.

Authorities confiscated approximately 1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine, approximately 3 ounces of suspected methamphetamine oil, about 2 gallons of methamphetamine oil, approximately 1/8 ounce of psilocybin mushrooms, around 300 pseudoephedrine pills, digital scales, and packaging materials.

They also found one antique pistol and laboratory equipment, solvents, and chemical reagents used in the illicit manufacture of methamphetamine, which were removed by the CCSERT team.

Jeremy Wright, 44, of Reading, was arrested as a result of the search and subsequent investigation.

Wright was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell, a class B felony, and unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D felony.

He was processed at SP Dundee before being transported to Schuyler County Jail for CAP arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
