NORTH HAVEN — Detectives arrested a 19-year-old Naugatuck man on April 7 for his alleged involvement in an attempted burglary at a North Haven jewelry store last year.

Jakyii Grant was charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief in the second degree.

The incident occurred on Oct. 20, 2024, when patrol officers responded to a business alarm and found a broken front window at the jewelry store.

Police said no entry was made into the building.

Detectives assigned to the case worked with other towns to identify Grant as one of the suspects.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant and took Grant into custody.

Grant was held on a $50,000 court-set bond.
