NORTH BRANFORD — A New Haven man was arrested Monday on animal cruelty charges following an investigation by North Branford police.
Eladio Cervantes, 48, was taken into custody by New Haven police on April 7 on an outstanding warrant issued by the North Branford Police Department.
Cervantes was charged with cruelty to animals after what authorities described as a lengthy and thorough investigation.
He was held overnight on a $10,000 bond and arraigned Tuesday at New Haven Superior Court.
The arrest was the result of cooperation between the New Haven Police Department, the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office, and North Branford police officers.
North Branford police officials said they remain committed to investigating all reports of animal abuse.
