BALLSTON — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Saratoga Springs man Monday following a disturbance call in Ballston.
Deputies responded to 11 Dominic Drive at 8:23 p.m. where they arrested Jerson J. Vargas, 48, according to a sheriff’s office statement.
Vargas faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and menacing in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors.
Authorities said Vargas, who had previously been convicted of a crime, is accused of possessing a knife and crack cocaine.
He allegedly displayed the knife in a manner that placed another person in reasonable fear of physical injury, serious physical injury or death.
Vargas was arraigned before Judge Steven L. Brown in Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail.
He awaits further proceedings in Ballston Town Court.
