FARMINGTON — A Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit apprehended a fugitive wanted on multiple felony warrants Monday morning.
Deputy Abele and his K-9 partner Saber located Heath Freeman, 45, walking on Perkins Avenue in Farmington at approximately 10 a.m.
When Deputy Abele attempted to make contact, Freeman fled on foot.
During the pursuit, Abele remotely opened his cruiser door, deploying K-9 Saber.
The police dog took the lead in the chase and successfully subdued Freeman.
Emergency medical services treated Freeman for injuries at the scene.
Freeman was transported to Strafford County Jail where he is being held without bail.
The arrest was a joint effort between the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, Farmington Police Department and New Hampshire Probation and Parole.
Freeman, who authorities say had been evading capture, was born on October 6, 1978.
