HOLBROOK — A North Carolina man faces multiple charges after police discovered firearms during a traffic stop Tuesday morning.
According to the Holbrook Police Department, an officer pulled over a vehicle displaying a cardboard plate labeled “stolen tags” at approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 8.
During the stop, officers determined the vehicle’s registration was revoked in North Carolina and the driver was operating without a proper license.
Police conducted an inventory of the vehicle before towing and discovered an unsecured 12-gauge shotgun and a Glock 43x handgun.
The Glock was equipped with a high-capacity magazine containing 16 rounds, authorities said.
Officers also found a box of .45 ACP ammunition during the search.
The driver, identified as Thaddeus Samuels of North Carolina, was arrested without incident.
Samuels faces charges including unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of a firearm, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and possession of ammunition.
He is expected to be arraigned at Quincy District Court.
