Drug raid in Fairfield leads to multiple arrests, seizure of fentanyl

FAIRFIELD — The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office executed a drug search warrant on Gagnon Road in Fairfield on Friday, April 4, at approximately 5:45 a.m., resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of over 53 grams of fentanyl.

The operation was led by Detective Lieutenant Gottardi and included five Sheriff’s Office Detectives, five Patrol Deputies, a Fairfield Police Department Detective, and four Detectives from the Waterville Police Department.

Seven individuals were found inside the residence and garage area during the raid.

In addition to the fentanyl, authorities seized a small amount of methamphetamine, controlled pills, digital scales, drug packaging materials, illegal drug-related documentation and paraphernalia, and $7,725 in suspected drug sale proceeds.

Adam Knight, 53, of Fairfield, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class A), with bail set at $50,000 cash.

Tina Boutin, 44, of Fairfield, faces the same charge with bail also set at $50,000 cash.

Dwayne Holmes, 58, of Waterville, was arrested for Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class A) with bail set at $5,000 cash, and on an outstanding warrant from Kennebec County for Failure to Appear on drug possession charges.

Crystal Cougle, 32, of St. Albans, was arrested on five outstanding warrants from Kennebec and Penobscot Counties for various charges including Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs.

Thomas Brooks, 36, of Skowhegan, and Melissa Witham, 37, of Rome, were both arrested on outstanding warrants from Kennebec County.

Knight, Boutin, and Holmes are scheduled to appear in Somerset County Unified Criminal Court on July 9 at 8:30 a.m.
