Clayville man sentenced in Albany to 10 years for drug and firearm offenses

ALBANY — Leshawn Thomas, 34, of Clayville, was sentenced Friday to 120 months in federal prison for drug and firearm offenses.

Thomas was convicted of possessing with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base, alongside unlawfully possessing firearms.

Thomas, who had two prior felony convictions, admitted to possessing approximately 3.01 kilograms of cocaine and 268.14 grams of cocaine base on or about April 28, 2023, in Oneida County.

He also admitted to possessing two loaded semi-automatic pistols.

Chief United States District Judge Brenda K. Sannes ordered an 8-year term of supervised release following Thomas’s prison sentence.

The judge also ordered the forfeiture of the firearms.

The investigation was conducted by the DEA with assistance from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
