HAMDEN — A large black bear was spotted on Brooksvale Avenue in Hamden early Tuesday morning, according to local police.
The bear entered an open garage of a Hamden resident before leaving the area, police said.
The Hamden Police Department shared information about the April 8 sighting on social media.
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection offers safety tips for residents who encounter bears, including recommendations to never feed bears and to properly secure garbage.
