ALBANY — Albany police are investigating an assault that occurred Monday, April 7, and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
A female victim was followed by a male suspect after both exited the 905 CDTA bus near Central Avenue and Quail Street around 7:20 p.m.
The suspect followed the victim and assaulted her in a rear yard on Washington Avenue, police said.
The victim sustained facial injuries during the incident.
Police described the suspect as a Black male wearing a face mask, green sweatshirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and carrying a tan backpack.
Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the suspect on the bus or noticed suspicious behavior in the area to contact the Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039.
