OWEGO — The Owego Police Department reported nine arrests during the week of March 31 through April 6.
Matthew J. Burdick, 32, and Jessica D. Fulmer, 39, both of Owego, were arrested for trespassing violations following an investigation of illegal camping in Marvin Park.
Charles S. Wilcox, 47, of Owego, was arrested for trespassing on Elm Street and later faced a more serious charge of fourth-degree arson, a felony, following an investigation of a structure fire at the same location.
Kyle R. Peppard, 39, of Owego, was arrested for three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal mischief, all misdemeanors, following a domestic violence incident on E. Main Street.
Mark F. Vymislicky, 53, of Port Crane, was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle with suspended registration following a traffic stop on Interstate 86.
Shawna N. Cook, 36, of Troy, was arrested for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, and inadequate plate lamps after a traffic stop on Adeline Street.
Two individuals were taken into custody for mental health holds after being deemed dangers to themselves, and a third person was assisted on April 4 at approximately 12:45 a.m. when officers responded to Talcott Street Bridge for a male attempting to jump.
The department reported a total of 153 calls for service, two motor vehicle accidents, and 11 traffic tickets issued during the week.
