NORTH HAVEN — A 69-year-old New Haven man has been charged in connection with three gas station robberies that occurred in North Haven during a one-week span in mid-February.

Samuel Carmon was charged April 7 with multiple offenses related to the robberies in which the suspect implied he had a firearm.

North Haven detectives worked with other area police departments that experienced similar crimes to identify Carmon as the suspect.

Information obtained from interviews, interagency cooperation and physical evidence led to the application of three arrest warrants for Carmon for the North Haven robberies.

Carmon was charged with three counts of robbery in the first degree, three counts of threatening in the first degree with a firearm, two counts of larceny in the sixth degree, and one count of larceny in the fourth degree.

The suspect, who is currently incarcerated for crimes outside of North Haven, remains in custody on a total court-set bond of $550,000 for the North Haven robberies.
