GENESEO — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Monroe County resident on burglary and larceny charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 24 at approximately 6:40 p.m., Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a business in the Town of Geneseo for a report of a burglary.

It is alleged through the investigation that 31-year-old Zachary Buckingham of Rochester entered the business and, while inside, stole property.

On April 6, Buckingham was arrested and charged with felony burglary in the third degree and petit larceny.

Buckingham was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.

He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail in front of Town of Springwater Justice Johnson.

The District Attorney’s Office recommended bail to be set in the amount of $500 cash or $1,000 bond.

The judge remanded Buckingham to the custody of the sheriff on the recommended bail of $500 cash or $1,000 bond.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Buckingham at the court arraignment for his defense.

The investigation was handled by Sheriff’s Deputies Caleb Nellis and Evan Wolfanger of the Patrol Division.
