KILLINGTON — A Massachusetts man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening on Bear Mountain Road.

Joseph Giannetti, 58, of Springfield, was taken into custody after Vermont State Police troopers responded to the crash at approximately 7:04 p.m. on April 5.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks detected signs of impairment while speaking with Giannetti at the scene, according to police.

Giannetti refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests at the roadside, police said.

He was transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing.

Giannetti was later released with a citation to appear in Rutland County Superior Court, Criminal Division, to answer to the charge of DUI.
