MALDEN — Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a home invasion that occurred on Mountain Ave. in Malden on April 1, police said Saturday.
Yaritza Trinidad, 29, of Cambridge, and Chawki Charbel Ibrahim, 24, of Boston, were taken into custody by Malden Police on Saturday afternoon, April 5.
The suspects are charged with home invasion and firearm-related crimes following an incident where they allegedly broke into a home and assaulted the occupant.
According to the Malden Police Department, uniformed officers responding to the scene on April 1 recovered a loaded firearm and obtained descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle from area CCTV footage.
The Malden Criminal Investigations Division shared information with surrounding law enforcement agencies, with Cambridge Police Department and Quincy Police Department providing assistance that led to the arrests.
Police are investigating the incident as a targeted attack rather than a random act of violence.
Both suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
