WEBSTER — Webster police officers assisted Dudley police in a motor vehicle pursuit that began in Dudley and continued through Webster into Douglas early Friday morning.

At approximately 6:46 a.m., Webster police officers on the overnight shift became aware of a pursuit entering Webster from Dudley.

Dudley officers were attempting to stop a woman who had been driving erratically through the Dudley Police Station parking lot.

The woman was driving in circles in the parking lot and nearly struck several unoccupied Dudley police cruisers while yelling out the window that she hated police and to get away from her.

The pursuit continued onto Main Street in Webster where Sergeant Mroczek stopped traffic while Officers Johnson and Blomgren deployed stop stick devices in two different locations.

The woman avoided the first set of stop sticks but made contact with the second set deployed by Officer Blomgren, which deflated two of the car’s tires.

Despite the flat tires, the woman continued driving as Sergeant Mroczek and Officer Johnson joined Dudley officers in the pursuit.

The vehicle entered Douglas on Route 16, where Douglas police officers also attempted to deploy stop stick devices, which the woman managed to avoid.

The pursuit ended when the woman turned into a parking lot off Main Street in Douglas that had only one entrance and exit.

After unsuccessfully attempting to drive over mulch, the woman came to a stop in the middle of the parking lot where Officer Johnson forcefully removed her from the driver’s seat and took her into custody.

The woman was charged by Dudley police with various crimes including OUI drugs, reckless operation and failure to stop for police.

No injuries were reported to bystanders, officers or the suspect.
