Rochester man arrested in Deerfield burglary

DEERFIELD — A Rochester man was arrested after deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a business on Horatio Street in the Town of Deerfield, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.

Deputies were called to an alarm at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Horatio Street.

Upon arrival, an employee already at the scene directed law enforcement toward the suspect.

Darin Gatson, 59, of Rochester was arrested in the parking lot of a nearby business.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Unit, which charged Gatson with Burglary 3rd, a class D felony.

Gatson, who is currently on New York State Parole, was transported to the Law Enforcement Building where he was processed and sent to Oneida County Jail to await CAP Court for arraignment.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police.
