JOHNSON CITY — New York State Police arrested a Johnson City man on April 4 for possession of child pornography and illegal substances following the execution of a search warrant.
Thomas P. Murray, 33, was taken into custody after investigators discovered images consistent with child sexual exploitation at his residence on Zoa Avenue.
During the search, officers also found suspected illegal substances and materials consistent with manufacturing methamphetamine, prompting a response from the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT).
Murray faces multiple charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony.
Additional charges include unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D felony, promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and five counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
He was also charged with criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
The arrest was made by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations at Endwell with assistance from the Troop C Computer Crimes unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Murray was processed at SP Endwell before being transferred to the Broome County Jail for centralized arraignment.
