TIVOLI — A four-vehicle crash occurred Thursday at approximately 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 9G and Broadway in the Village of Tivoli, according to the Red Hook Police Department.
Preliminary police investigation determined that a 2011 Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 21-year-old Groveland, Massachusetts man, was traveling northbound on Route 9G when it attempted to make a left turn onto Broadway, failing to yield the right of way to a southbound vehicle.
The southbound vehicle, a 2022 Ram truck towing a utility trailer and skid steer, was operated by a 36-year-old Pine Bush man.
The Ram struck the Toyota’s passenger side, causing a major collision that resulted in the Ram jack-knifing and overturning its trailer and skid steer.
The Ram then collided with a stationary 2010 GMC van on Broadway, driven by a 49-year-old Port Ewen man.
The Toyota left the roadway and struck a parked, unoccupied 2020 Nissan van in a nearby driveway.
Drivers of the Toyota and Ram suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by emergency medical services to Northern Dutchess Hospital for treatment.
The Toyota driver was issued tickets for failure to yield the right of way and unsafe turning.
