NORTH HAVEN — A woman was arrested for shoplifting at a local Target store and was found to have multiple outstanding warrants across several Connecticut towns.

Patricia Cole, 40, of East Haven, was taken into custody at 2:20 p.m. April 2 after attempting to flee the store on Universal Drive with a cart full of stolen merchandise.

According to the North Haven Police Department, officers responded to a report of a known shoplifter in the store.

As police entered the front door, Cole reportedly ran out the rear fire emergency exit, where a North Haven Police Officer was waiting.

Cole was charged with Larceny 6th Degree for the Target incident.

Police also served Cole with two additional warrants they already held for her related to previous thefts from North Haven businesses.

Authorities discovered Cole had three more outstanding arrest warrants from Madison, Derby, and Newington.
