ASHLAND — A motor vehicle collision has closed a section of High Street after a utility pole was damaged Thursday morning.
Police and fire units responded to the scene near the intersection of High Street and Cross Street at approximately 8 a.m.
The crash resulted in a broken utility pole, forcing authorities to close High Street from Cross Street to Ridgewood Street.
Eversource Massachusetts crews are en route to make repairs to the damaged infrastructure.
Officials are asking motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until repairs are completed.
No timeline has been provided for when the road will reopen.
