BLUE HILL — A 25-year-old Brooksville man faces multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Brian Archer of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Logan Lajeunesse while investigating a suspicious activity and trespassing complaint in Blue Hill.

Lajeunesse failed to comply and led authorities on a brief pursuit along Union Street, reaching speeds exceeding 80 mph, according to the sheriff’s office.

While attempting to negotiate a corner, Lajeunesse lost control of his vehicle, which veered off the left side of the roadway, struck a rock head-on, flipped into the air, and landed on its driver’s side.

The vehicle’s roof collided with a tree before coming to rest off the roadway.

Lajeunesse sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

He was charged with eluding an officer, aggravated driving to endanger, and exceeding the posted speed limit by 30 mph or more.

Following the incident, Lajeunesse was summonsed and released to facilitate his medical care.

The initial complaint that prompted the investigation remains under investigation, according to authorities.
