PROVIDENCE — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Schenectady man Wednesday on felony burglary charges following an investigation into a break-in at a Stella Lane residence.
Thomas A. Toth, 45, faces multiple charges including second-degree burglary, a class C felony, after allegedly entering a dwelling illegally on March 21.
The sheriff’s office received the burglary complaint at 1:23 p.m. on March 21, according to authorities.
Investigators say Toth is accused of knowingly entering and remaining unlawfully in the dwelling with intent to commit a crime.
He allegedly stole items from both inside and outside the residence.
Toth is also charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a dead bolt to gain entry to the home.
Additional charges include petit larceny and second-degree criminal contempt, both class A misdemeanors.
The criminal contempt charge stems from Toth allegedly violating an order of protection that required him to refrain from criminal conduct against a protected person.
Following his arrest, Toth was arraigned before Judge Alison Thomas-Oravsky in Galway Town Court.
He was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in Providence Town Court.
