PORTLAND — Portland Police arrested a 33-year-old local man Wednesday night after he allegedly attempted to stab someone and stole their vehicle.
Officers responded to the area of Commercial and High Streets at 8:55 p.m. following reports of a motor vehicle theft and attempted stabbing.
Upon arrival, witnesses directed police to Seth Mccallum, who was wielding a knife and was quickly taken into custody.
According to witnesses, Mccallum attempted to stab the victim before stealing the victim’s vehicle and driving a short distance.
He then allegedly damaged the vehicle, including slashing two tires.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Mccallum faces multiple charges including Robbery, Criminal Threatening with a Dangerous Weapon, Aggravated Criminal Mischief, Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property and Interference with Constitutional Rights.
He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
