ENFIELD — Two Springfield, Massachusetts residents were arrested Wednesday during a planned operation targeting retail theft in Enfield’s shopping district.
Devon Arthur, 21, and Gabriella Martins, 20, were apprehended while actively committing larceny, according to Enfield Police Chief Alaric J. Fox.
Evidence of an earlier larceny from a separate Enfield retail store was also discovered during the arrests.
The operation was conducted by Enfield community police officers with assistance from the Connecticut State Police retail theft task force, working directly with loss prevention staff from several stores.
Both Arthur and Martins were charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny and two counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.
The arrests occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on April 2.
