Middletown man arrested in connection with River Road homicide

MIDDLETOWN — A 34-year-old Middletown man has been arrested and charged with murder following a months-long investigation into the death of a 67-year-old man discovered last November.

Julio Wright was arrested Thursday at Middletown Court while appearing for an unrelated case, according to police.

Wright faces charges of murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of Roger Davis.

Police discovered Davis’ body on Nov. 4, 2024, while conducting a property check at 225 River Road.

The Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide due to the circumstances and evidence at the crime scene.

Detectives from the Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit recovered physical and forensic evidence from the scene and the victim’s body that identified Wright as the suspect.

Multiple search warrants were served during the investigation, which police said ultimately led to an arrest warrant for Wright.

Wright is being held on a court-set $2 million bond.
