COVENTRY — The Vermont State Police are investigating an incident in which a bullet struck an occupied residence on Reed Road in Coventry at approximately 8 p.m. on April 2.
No injuries occurred as a result of the shooting, according to authorities.
Troopers from the Derby Barracks, assisted by Vermont Fish and Wildlife Game Wardens, collected evidence indicating the handgun-caliber round was fired from a location south of the residence and several hundred yards away.
Investigators believe the shot may have originated from the area of VT-105.
Police do not believe the residence was specifically targeted, and there is no indication of a threat to the public.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident, or who may have witnessed gunfire in the area of VT-105 and Reed Road in Coventry around 8 p.m., to contact the VSP Derby Barracks at (802) 334-8881.
