Avon woman charged with identity theft, fraud

1 min read

AVON — A 31-year-old Avon woman faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly stealing bank account information from several victims, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

Kelly Cole was arrested April 1 following an investigation that began in March when the Sheriff’s Office received reports of possible fraud.

Investigators allege Cole fraudulently obtained bank account information from multiple individuals and used that information to steal money from their accounts.

Cole has been charged with two counts of felony identity theft in the second degree, scheme to defraud in the second degree, and three counts of petit larceny.

After processing at the Livingston County Jail, Cole was released on her own recognizance as the charges do not qualify for bail under the New York State Justice Reform Act.

The Avon Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
