DIXFIELD — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested two men on aggravated drug trafficking charges following a two-month investigation into illegal drug sales from a Dixfield residence.

Kenneth McCoullum, 33, of Portland, and Joshua Campbell, 38, of Dixfield, were taken into custody Tuesday, April 1, at approximately 9 a.m. when agents executed a search warrant at Campbell’s residence at 57B High Street.

Campbell allegedly attempted to physically block agents from entering the residence before being taken into custody.

McCoullum allegedly tried to escape through a second-floor window, tossing a firearm before retreating inside where agents found him attempting to destroy several bags of illegal drugs in a bathroom.

Agents seized approximately 225 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, 10 grams of fentanyl, assorted unidentified pills, three loaded firearms and $4,350 in suspected drug proceeds during the search.

McCoullum had an outstanding arrest warrant from Somerset County for failing to appear in court on previous drug trafficking and firearm charges with bail set at $100,000.

Authorities said McCoullum was also out on bail for previous drug-related charges that required him to wear an electronic monitoring device, which he had removed.

McCoullum faces charges of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (cocaine), possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and violation of conditional release.

Campbell is charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (cocaine) and obstruction of government administration.

Both men were transported to the Oxford County Jail, where Campbell’s bail was set at $25,000 cash.

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Rumford Police Department and U.S. Border Patrol assisted MDEA agents in the investigation and execution of the search warrant.
