Stolen car alert leads to arrest at Greece mall

GREECE — Officers from the Greece Police Department arrested a Rochester man after recovering a stolen vehicle at the Greece Ridge Center Mall.

On April 1, at approximately 2:47 p.m., police responded to an alert indicating a stolen vehicle in the mall area.

The car had been reported stolen by the Philadelphia Police Department.

Officers located the vehicle and arrested the operator, Brendyn J. Singleton, 30, of Rochester.

Singleton was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, a class D felony, and unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Singleton was transported to the Monroe County Jail for CAP Court processing.

The arrest was facilitated by License Plate Reader technology, which helped officers identify the stolen vehicle.
