ROCKLAND — A routine traffic stop in Sullivan County led to the seizure of multiple drugs and the arrest of an Endicott man on Monday.
Members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit observed a 2015 Nissan traveling westbound on State Route 17 in the town of Rockland at approximately 4:37 p.m. on March 31, police said.
Troopers initiated a stop after noting multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
The driver, identified as Jamar S. Kea, 33, of Endicott, consented to a vehicle search during the investigation.
Troopers discovered approximately 3 pounds of cannabis, over 400 grams of cocaine, and over 100 grams of fentanyl in the vehicle.
Kea and his 23-year-old female passenger, also from Endicott, were initially arrested and transported to State Police Liberty.
According to police, Kea took full responsibility for the illegal substances, stating that his passenger was unaware of the drugs being transported.
The female passenger was subsequently released.
Kea faces multiple charges including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree, a Class A-1 Felony, and several other drug possession charges.
He was arraigned at the Town of Rockland Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail while awaiting a future court appearance.
