Police investigate swastika found at Sheldon school

SHELDON — Vermont State Police are investigating a vandalism incident at Sheldon Elementary School where a swastika was found carved into an exterior metal door.

Troopers received a report of the vandalism on April 2 at 12:22 p.m. and responded to the school located at 78 Poor Farm Rd.

The incident is believed to have occurred on March 22 around 11 a.m., according to police.

Authorities said the case will be reported to the Attorney General’s Office as a possible hate crime under the Bias Incident Reporting System.

No suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains active.
