NORTH ADAMS — A joint narcotics investigation by the North Adams Police Department Detective Unit and the Berkshire County Drug Task Force resulted in the arrest of a Springfield man on cocaine trafficking charges.
David Lewis Jr. was detained on Friday, March 28, following surveillance operations at a location in Adams.
During a search of Lewis and his vehicle, investigators seized approximately 55.1 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value between $3,306 and $4,408.
Authorities also confiscated approximately $4,240 in U.S. currency.
Lewis was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine 36-100 grams under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 94C Section 32E.
He was initially held on $20,000 cash bail pending arraignment.
On Monday, March 31, Lewis was arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court where his bail was set at $5,000 cash.
