MERIDEN — A Meriden man was arrested on March 25 in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving multiple child victims, according to police.
Winal Diaz, 35, was taken into custody and charged with sexual assault in the second degree with a victim 13-15 years old and illegal sexual contact under 16.
The Meriden Police Department Special Crimes Unit began investigating a possible sexual assault of a child on August 31, 2023.
Police said the investigation uncovered multiple victims and had previously resulted in earlier arrests of Diaz.
Additional information discovered as part of the original investigation led to a new arrest warrant being issued.
Diaz was held on a court-set $75,000 surety bond.
