CORTLAND — Six individuals were arrested following a narcotics investigation that yielded nearly 300 bags of fentanyl and multiple other drugs, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrests occurred on March 31 at approximately 9:30 a.m. after a traffic stop in the city of Cortland.
Police seized 297 bags containing fentanyl, along with multiple bags of crack-cocaine, powder cocaine, and methamphetamine with a street value exceeding $1,500.
Ibrahim M. Aden, 42, of Syracuse, Alexander R. Temple, 34, of Cortland, and Harlan O. Caulkins, 46, of Cortlandville, were each charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (felony), fourth-degree conspiracy (felony), and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor).
Charles E. Phillips, 43, Ryan P. Conroy, 35, and April Y. McCall, 46, all of Cortland, were each charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor).
The operation was conducted by the Cortland County Drug Task Force in collaboration with the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit and members of the City of Cortland Police Department.
Phillips, Conroy, and McCall were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the City of Cortland Court on April 14 at 9:00 a.m.
Aden, Temple, and Caulkins were arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8:00 p.m. on March 31.
Aden and Temple were released on their own recognizance, while Caulkins was remanded to the Cortland County Jail with no bail.
Aden, Temple, and Caulkins are scheduled to appear in the City of Cortland Court on April 9 at 1:00 p.m.
