NAUGATUCK — Three individuals were arrested following a shoplifting incident at a local Big Y supermarket that led to a foot chase, according to Naugatuck Police.
Officers responded to reports of shoplifting at the Big Y on March 31 at 2 p.m., where witnesses described a suspect pushing a cart full of meat out of the store.
Upon arrival, police found multiple suspects loading stolen items into two vehicles outside a nearby Family Dollar.
Two suspects fled on foot when officers approached, police said.
After a brief pursuit, officers arrested Gustavo Guachamin-Tashiguano, 42, while a second suspect, Luis Uyana-Guachamin, 31, was apprehended on the Prospect Street Bridge.
A third suspect, Ana Cahuasqui-Ramos, 40, was located in a separate vehicle in the Big Y parking lot along with stolen meat and two juveniles.
Guachamin-Tashiguano and Uyana-Guachamin were each charged with larceny, conspiracy, resisting arrest, and risk of injury to a child, according to police.
Both men were held on $25,000 bonds and arraigned on April 1.
Cahuasqui-Ramos was charged with conspiracy and risk of injury to a child, released on a $5,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on April 23.
