2 pedestrians struck by vehicle at Hornellsville trailer park

HORNELLSVILLE — Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle at Pine Knoll Park trailer park in Hornellsville at approximately 5:53 p.m. on March 30.

New York State Police from SP Hornell responded to the scene and discovered two individuals, ages 57 and 56, had been struck by a vehicle on a farm equipment access path adjacent to the trailer park.

Preliminary investigation determined that Walter P. Golden, 40, of Arkport, was operating a 2011 Cadillac SUV when he intentionally struck the victims.

The 57-year-old victim sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at St. James Hospital before being released.

The 56-year-old victim suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital, where they remain in the ICU in critical condition.

Golden was located by responding Troopers in the area and taken into custody.

He has been charged with two counts of Assault 1st degree, a class B felony, and was transported to Steuben County Jail for arraignment.
